A Difficult Weekend....

Hi all! Man this weekend has been exceptionally hard for many reasons that I don't feel I should go into now. But just when I thought it couldn't get any worse I got a call from Alec's Preschool teacher telling me that the school's director had unexpectedly passed away. What??? I am in shock. This woman was young, appeared to be in great health, was an amazing person and dear friend to many. She has young children, she was in the prime of her life. Why this and why now? I am reeling. I have known her for just over 4 years, now given I didn't know her exceptionally well, we didn't hang out together or anything, but we saw her a number of times a week for years and now she won't be there.

I think what hits me hard also is that this could happen to anyone, anytime....it could happen to me. We never know when the Lord will call us home and if we will have done all we needed to (and wanted to) before that call comes. It reminds me of my favorite Christian artist's song "If I Only Had Today". Hilary Weeks is an amazingly talented singer/songwriter and this song is amazing. A good reminder of how we should live each day, no regrets, to its fullest...we never know when it will be our last, if we will only have "today". (I will include the lyrics at the end of this post.)

As I said, I am in shock of this news. I didn't know her (leaving her name out on purpose) well but I knew from my associations with her that she was a sweet, tender, loving, fun, compassionate, patient, Christian, devoted wife and mother, and dear friend to many. She will be greatly missed. My prayers go out to her family.

So to all of you in the blogging world, I ask you to please do as I plan to...live and love each day as if it were your last. Be quick to forgive and slow to anger. Be gentle and loving to everyone you meet and give even the most undeserving the benefit of the doubt. Have no regrets and carry no grudges. Let us all love each other fully and without delay or expectation. Because we do have today, let's live it fully! God bless you all!
